No time to practice?

Does it happen to you that sometimes, finding time to PRACTICE seems almost MISSION IMPOSSIBLE? Well, this has been me for the past weeks šŸ™ƒ The thing is, when you finally find some time for playing the guitar in your overloaded schedule, the last thing you want to do is to WASTE ITā€¦ which may actually happen if you donā€™t know what you need to do at the time.

So, this is what I do to keep playing and practicing towards my goals when busy periods come along...

I hope this helps! I wish you a beautiful weekend and happy practicing!

Playing straight through pieces, as we all do sometimes, only results in practicing your mistakes.

I will play through, and get to the tricky bit, muck it up a bit, and keep playing. And then play the entire piece again, with the same mistake. Over and over. So the mistake becomes the thing you practice, not the solution.

(I know the reason - it takes time and effort to isolate the tricky passage, work out a good fingering, SLOWLY play through it, and then incorporate it into the preceeding bars, and then the whole piece. Yes, I'm lazy!!

BTW, have you created a microsoft word font called 'merce font'? I think you should... :)

hi Deni! Playing through music and not really 'problem solving' is something that we all do in more or less degree. I guess deadlines help a lot on fixing issues. But glad to help you a bit to think on that :) I like the idea of the font... hahaha next designing project šŸ˜‚
